Work Detail ETAG Energietechnik, the Indian subsidiary of the European Technology Alliance Group (ETAG) GmbH, has announced plans to invest approximately ?300 crore in a new facility in Mangaluru. The unit, to be established within the Mangalore Special Economic Zone (SEZ), is expected to become operational by early 2026. The company also aims to employ a significant number of hearing- and speech-impaired individuals at the facility. The announcement was made during a programme to exchange an Expression of Interest (EoI) with Mangalore SEZ on Monday. Capt. Brijesh Chowta, Dakshina Kannada MP, highlighted that this investment aligns with his ‘Back to Ooru’ (Back to the Native Place) initiative, which encourages locals who have moved away to establish enterprises in the Mangaluru region. Prakash Periera, Managing Director of ETAG Energietechnik, stated that the new facility will focus on research, product development, and manufacturing, with an investment of around ?300 crore. The facility, which will occupy a land parcel in the Mangalore SEZ, is projected to generate annual exports worth $110 million. Periera noted that establishing the facility in Mangaluru will enable ETAG to be closer to its growing customer base in Asia, enhancing its global operations while contributing to the region’s economic growth.
