The Sustainability Forum Middle East (SFME 2025) has announced Standard Chartered Bank as a Strategic Partner for its third edition, scheduled for January 28-29, 2025, in Bahrain. Focus on Climate and Energy Resilience The Forum, held under the patronage of Dr. Mohamed Bin Daina, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, with the support of the Supreme Council for Environment, will address the theme: “Mobilising Action and Investment for Climate and Energy Resilience.” Standard Chartered’s Role in Climate Action As a returning Strategic Partner for the third year, Standard Chartered Bank reinforces its commitment to climate action and sustainability initiatives. Notable speakers include: Dr. Boutros Klink, CEO of Standard Chartered Bahrain, who will participate in a panel discussion on “Scaling Climate Finance – From Market Innovation to Mobilising Private Capital.” Lina Osman, Regional Head of Sustainable Finance for Africa & MENAP, who will speak on “Navigating Compulsory Carbon Markets and Cross-Border Tax Regimes,” highlighting the role of financial institutions in helping businesses adapt to carbon regulations and sustainability standards. A Comprehensive Agenda for Sustainability The Forum will feature discussions on critical themes such as: Financing strategies to support the net-zero transition Policy and regulatory advancements Innovations in technology and sustainability practices Additionally, hands-on learning workshops will be conducted over two days to foster collaboration, raise awareness, and mobilise action toward achieving regional climate and energy resilience.
