The construction industry in Salta is experiencing a revival after a period of slowdown. After a year 2024 marked by the paralysis of numerous public works nationwide, the province of Salta has managed to reactivate a significant percentage of its construction projects. According to statements by the president of the Chamber of Construction of Salta, Juan Carlos Segura, it is estimated that within one or two months, construction activity will reach pre-crisis levels. The main focuses of this reactivation are: Social housing: It has been agreed that the construction of more than 1,800 homes will continue, both in the capital and in the provinces interior. The province will assume the financing of these works, combining its own funds with a system of prior savings by the future successful bidders. Child Development Centers: The province is also investing in the construction of 18 Child Development Centers, a project that is currently in full development. Infrastructure: Although major projects such as national roads and wastewater treatment plants will be the responsibility of the national government, the province has assumed responsibility for completing a number of smaller-scale projects such as water networks, wells and public buildings. The benefits of this reactivation are multiple: Job creation: Greater demand for labour in the construction sector is expected to emerge in the coming months, which will help boost the local economy. Infrastructure improvements: Completion of the works will improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of Salta, by providing them with decent housing, educational centres and better quality public services. Boosting the regional economy: The revival of construction will have a multiplier effect on other sectors of the economy, such as the production of construction materials and retail trade. In short, the province of Salta has taken an important step towards economic recovery by reactivating a large number of public works. This decision will not only improve the infrastructure of the province, but also generate employment and boost the local economy. |
