Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 37 public welfare projects in Ahmedabad, amounting to an investment of approximately ?651 crore. The event was attended by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Cabinet Minister Rushikesh Patel, and Minister of State Jagdish Vishwakarma. The projects, spread across Ahmedabad East, Ahmedabad West, and Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituencies, include 10 inaugurated projects worth ?95 crore and 27 foundation stones for upcoming initiatives valued at ?556 crore. Shah, addressing the gathering, paid tribute to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his birth anniversary and highlighted the significance of his historic slogans during India’s independence movement. Shah assured the citizens of Ranip that drainage and development works for the Chandrabhaga Canal would resolve longstanding issues. He also announced plans for an amusement park in the area and emphasized the regions growth, referencing his long history of service to the constituency. Shah launched rainwater drainage projects in over 350 societies and encouraged the adoption of percolation wells and solar rooftops for sustainable water and energy solutions. He also introduced the ‘Doodh Sanjeevani Yojana’ to improve child nutrition and urged support for Anganwadis in combating malnutrition. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel praised Shah’s leadership in driving development and preservation of heritage. He reiterated the governments commitment to urban growth with an allocation of ?21,696 crore for urban development in the state. Patel also emphasized the governments focus on cleanliness and quality of life for citizens, underscoring the role of initiatives like the Green Swachh Society League. At the event, symbolic milk distribution for children in Anganwadis was carried out under the ‘Doodh Sanjeevani Yojana,’ and the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) launched durable cloth bags to reduce plastic use. Several key infrastructure projects were inaugurated, including underpasses and drainage systems, and housing units under the slum rehabilitation policy were also handed over to beneficiaries. The ceremony was attended by several prominent political figures, including MPs, MLAs, and city officials. |
