Work Detail Jaipur International Airport has successfully completed the commissioning of a 3,065-metre parallel taxiway, officials announced on Thursday. The final stretch of 765 metres of the taxiway was inaugurated after receiving all necessary regulatory approvals. The completion of this extension brings the 2,300-metre taxiway, initially commissioned in 2023, to its full length. The project aims to improve operational efficiency and safety at the airport, providing a continuous and uninterrupted path for aircraft movement. In phase one, the 2,300-metre taxiway was developed to reduce runway occupancy time and ensure smoother aircraft operations. With the addition of the final 765-metre segment, the new taxiway features advanced lighting systems to support safe operations even in adverse weather conditions. The design of the expanded taxiway includes multiple entry and exit points, allowing for more controlled aircraft movements. By enabling simultaneous aircraft movements, the new taxiway will reduce wait times for take-offs and landings, enhancing the airports overall capacity. This development is expected to help Jaipur International Airport manage increasing air traffic and accommodate the growing demand for air travel, positioning it for future growth.
