A US$528 million loan will pay for an Indonesia port upgrade. Japan is supplying a loan worth US$528 million to upgrade the Patimban Port in Indonesia. The loan is being provided by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and will be used to upgrade the facilities at the port, located in West Java, Indonesia. The port improvements will include better access roads, construction of a 1km bridge and a terminal facility for cars covering an area of 13.7km as well as new container facilities. The upgraded West Java port facility should be ready for use in 2028 if the planned schedule is adhered to. The loan is being provided as part of the Special Term Economic Partnership (STEP) between Indonesia and Japan. |
