Companies interested in restoring the Rambla de Mar del Plata made a mandatory visit to the facilities as part of the bidding process. This tour, a requirement of the Terms and Conditions for Public Tender 46/2024, allowed the companies technicians to examine in detail the current state of the infrastructure and make technical inquiries, thus refining their proposals for the opening of envelopes on January 20. The investment planned for the first stage of the restoration amounts to $4,086,549,517. The visit focused on observing the many shortcomings of the infrastructure and furnishings of the Rambla, including the lower area that faces the sand, one of the most deteriorated sectors. The company representatives made technical inquiries to the officials of the Ministry of Infrastructure of the Province of Buenos Aires. One of the main construction challenges is the restoration of the tiles. The work will have to replicate the original tiles, which prevents the installation of elements currently sold. To achieve the replica, samples of the tiles in the best condition will be taken, and it was mentioned that only a company from Córdoba could carry out this specific work. Another complex aspect to be addressed is the unevenness that has developed in the structure over time, with visible subsidence in several sectors that will have to be levelled. The work also covers the lower part of the Rambla, closest to the sand, which is more deteriorated and requires intensive renovation and maintenance. In summary, the visit by the companies interested in the tender for the restoration of the Rambla focused on the construction details necessary to address the deterioration of the infrastructure.
