The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed more segments of the ongoing Junction Nato-Sabang Coastal Road Project, extending the picturesque coastal road in the municipalities of San Jose and Sagñay, Camarines Sur. DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing a report from DPWH Region 5 Director Virgilio C. Eduarte, said that six (6) parts of the coastal road were recently completed in Barangays Calalahan, Dolo, and Telegrafo in San Jose, as well as in Barangay Nato and Sto Niño in Sagñay town. Another portion of Junction Nato-Sabang Coastal Road in Barangay Nato is also ongoing at 77 percent and will be opened to the public by the second quarter of 2025. To date, the DPWH has allocated a total of P792.94 million for the construction of the coastal road since 2022. When completed, the road with bridge, drainage and slope protection component, would also safeguard the coast of Barangay Nato, Sagñay to Barangay Sabang, San Jose. The entire scenic road stretch will also have guard rails, reflectorized thermoplastic pavement markings, regulatory and warning signs, and roadway lighting, as added safety features for all road users. The Junction Nato-Sabang Coastal Road Project is being implemented by DPWH Camarines Sur 4th District Engineering Office under the leadership of District Engineer Gemma B. Timbang. |
