Ameren has been selected by the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) to manage several key energy infrastructure projects that will supply clean and reliable energy to distribution grids in Missouri, Illinois and other Midwest states. The approximately $1.3 billion projects are part of MISO’s Long-Range Transmission Plan (LRTP) and improve the region’s energy transmission capacity. “As demand for reliable energy increases, it is important to strengthen our transmission system to take advantage of diverse energy resources throughout the Midwest to meet the needs of residents and businesses,” said Shawn Schukar, chairman of Ameren Transmission Company of Illinois (NYSE: AEE). “These projects, including the expansion and relocation of energy transmission systems, will improve reliability and help attract energy-intensive industries to this bi-state region.
