Work Detail |
Tunisia’s Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Energy has launched a tender to allocate two solar power projects with a combined capacity of 200 MW for integration into the national grid.
Each project will have a capacity of 100 MW, as specified in the tender document. Further details, including plant locations and construction requirements, have not been disclosed. Proposals can be submitted until April 30, 2025.
This tender forms part of the second round of Tunisia’s AO-01-2022 call for tenders, which aims to secure contractors for 1,700 MW of photovoltaic (PV) projects under the national renewable energy development programme.
In the first phase of the initiative, four projects with a total capacity of 500 MW were selected in 2024. These projects, expected to be operational by 2027, are projected to generate approximately 1,000 GWh annually, equivalent to 5% of Tunisia’s electricity production.
Tunisia aims to increase the share of renewable energy in its power mix to 35% by 2030. |
