King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) has launched a pioneering research study to revolutionize cement manufacturing processes, focusing on reducing and capturing carbon emissions. The study, part of KAUST’s Future Cement Initiative (FCI), targets key areas like the high-energy calcination of limestone to develop sustainable production strategies. A collaborative effort, FCI brings together KAUST, the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, and the National Committee for Cement Companies.
