Procurement News Notice

PNN 87773
Work Detail Geotechnical survey works are scheduled to commence at the Hornsea Four offshore wind farm site in the UK in February 2025. The geotechnical seabed investigations, which include boreholes and cone penetration tests (CPTs), will be conducted using survey vessels Connector, Geoquip Saentis, and Geoquip Seehorn, as well as the support vessel GV Independent, starting from 10 February, subject to weather conditions. The survey works are expected to last approximately 170 days, including weather downtime, according to a Notice to Mariners from the project. Located 69 kilometres off the Yorkshire coast, Hornsea Four was granted consent by the Secretary of State for the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero in July 2023. The project developer Ørsted secured a Contract for Difference (CfD) for the 2.4 GW offshore wind farm from the UK government in September 2024. In September last year, Ørsted said the company expected to take the final investment decision on Hornsea Four within 18 months and was targeting the commissioning of the project before the end of 2030.
