The Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority (CPTRA) is inviting licence bids for the creation of an offshore wind farm in the Saare 7 area. The site is located approximately 11km west of Saaremaa. According to the licence application from Sunly Wind, 46 wind turbines, a substation and submarine cables are planned for the Saare 7 area. The height of the wind turbines is up to 165 metres above the water level and the diameter of the rotor is up to 264 metres. The capacity of each wind turbine is up to 15MW and the total capacity of the offshore wind farm is 552MW. All interested parties are invited to submit competing applications for the area to the CPTRA by 18 March. If more than one application meets the required criteria, the CPTRA will organise an auction, after which the licence procedure will be initiated. |
