Work Detail Carrier, a US heating solutions provider, has introduced a new line of 4-14kW heat pumps with a coefficient of performance of up to 4.90. The system uses propane as a refrigerant and can reportedly reach an outlet water temperature of 75°C. Carrier has launched a new series of air-to-water heat pumps for applications in residential and commercial buildings. “Providing an impressive price-performance ratio, this monoblock has a compact footprint and low refrigerant charge, further helping to minimise environmental impact,” the manufacturer noted on its Linkedin account, highlighting that the new product is designed for outdoor installation in an open area. The AquaSnap 30 AWH-P monobloc system uses propane (R290) as a refrigerant and is available in eight versions - 6 single-phase and 2 three-phase models - with a nominal capacity ranging from 4 kW to 14 kW and a coefficient of performance (COP) ranging from 4.90 to 4.80. The smallest product measures 946mm x 560mm x 927mm and weighs 79.3kg, with noise levels reaching 49db(A). The largest system measures 946mm x 560mm x 1,375mm, weighs 129.3kg and has noise levels of 54db(A). In heating mode, heat pumps can operate at an outside air temperature of -20 °C, while in cooling mode they can operate at up to 46 °C. The outlet water temperature can reach up to 75 °C, according to the manufacturer. “The AquaSnap 30AWH-P can be cascaded with up to four units to meet heating and cooling needs in light commercial applications,” explains Carrier. “Each of the units can individually meet the requirements of the space in which it is installed.” The heat pumps also incorporate a Gateway that allows remote management of home comfort through the Carrier Comfort Management App. “Offering high performance, the 30AWH-P range is compatible with low to medium temperature emitters, such as underfloor heating, fan coils, hydronic cassettes, radiators and mixed installations,” the company notes. “And even high temperature emitters for renovation applications such as boiler replacement.”
