Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, the Youth 4 Sustainability (Y4S) Hub will play a pivotal role in Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) 2025, taking place from January 14-16 at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi.
Hosted by Masdar, Y4S is a global initiative designed to empower the next generation of sustainability leaders. The 2025 programme, themed “Generation Now – Building the Future,” will focus on youth-driven innovation, the integration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in sustainability, and fostering international collaboration. A special emphasis will be placed on utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies to develop innovative climate solutions.
Advancing Sustainability Through Youth Leadership
The Y4S Hub will deliver an agenda aligned with five key pillars:
Unlocking Potential, Driving Progress
Innovating for the Energy Transformation
Empowering Entrepreneurs for a Resilient World
Cultivating STEM Skills for a Sustainable Future
Fostering Global Collaboration and Cultural Exchange
Mohamed Al Ramahi, CEO of Masdar, underscored the initiative’s impact since its inception in 2016.
“Youth 4 Sustainability has empowered tens of thousands of young people to take an active role in shaping a sustainable future,” he said. “The Y4S Hub at ADSW 2025 will connect young voices globally with governments, industry leaders, and civil society, enabling them to drive social, economic, and environmental progress.”
Program Highlights
The Y4S Hub will feature a dynamic programme, including:
Annual Y4S Forum: Interactive sessions, debates, panel discussions, and keynotes with global experts, entrepreneurs, and innovators.
Out-of-Labs Marketplace: Showcasing climate technologies and net-zero solutions from startups and student-led projects.
Youth Connect Workshops: Hands-on activities on climate literacy and negotiation simulations.

A Track Record of Global Impact
Since 2018, Y4S has hosted four editions of the Hub during ADSW, welcoming over 3,000 youth from around the world and featuring over 200 speakers, including 40 heads of state and 65 industry partners. Y4S has also played a significant role on the global stage, including at COP28 in the UAE, the first COP to appoint an official Youth Climate Champion.
The Y4S Hub at ADSW 2025 aims to further equip the next generation with the skills, knowledge, and networks necessary to become global sustainability leaders, reinforcing the UAE’s commitment to empowering youth and driving climate action on a global scale. |
