The Province of Buenos Aires will invest more than 3.4 billion pesos to protect the Pehuen Co coast. In order to stop coastal erosion and guarantee the preservation of one of the main beach resorts in the province, the Buenos Aires government has launched a tender to carry out protection work in Pehuen Co. This initiative, framed in a comprehensive coastal management plan, seeks to ensure the long-term sustainability of the tourist destination. Details of the work: Budget: The total estimated investment for the project exceeds 3.4 billion pesos. Objective: The main objective of the work is to prevent the retreat of the coastal dune, caused by natural erosion and environmental factors. Solution: A rock protection will be built at the foot of the dune, on which an artificial sand filling will be placed. This solution will stabilise the coast and protect it from the action of the sea. Schedule: The opening of envelopes for the award of the work is scheduled for January 29.
