Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for a series of significant development projects in Delhi, including initiatives focused on education, housing, and urban redevelopment. The projects are part of the Central Governments ongoing efforts to enhance Delhis infrastructure and improve the quality of life for its residents.
During the event, PM Modi emphasized the governments commitment to improving the education system and advancing major projects in sectors such as roads, metro systems, hospitals, and college campuses in Delhi.
Key Projects Inaugurated and Launched:
Housing Project:
PM Modi inaugurated 1,675 newly constructed flats for residents of JJ clusters and handed over keys to eligible beneficiaries at the Swabhiman Apartments in Ashok Vihar, Delhi.
This housing initiative is part of the Delhi Development Authority’s (DDA) successful In-Situ Slum Rehabilitation Project.
Nearly 3,000 new homes are currently under construction in the city, with thousands more expected to be completed in the coming year.
Beneficiaries contribute less than 7% of the total cost for building the flats, paying a minimum of ?1.42 lakh for the apartment and ?30,000 for five years of upkeep.
Additionally, the government is fast-tracking the construction of the Narela sub-city to further boost Delhis infrastructure.
Redevelopment Projects:
The World Trade Centre (WTC) at Nauroji Nagar will provide over 34 lakh square feet of modern business space, replacing outdated quarters with state-of-the-art commercial skyscrapers. The development integrates green features such as solar energy generation, rainwater harvesting, and a zero-discharge concept.
The redevelopment of General Pool Residential Accommodation (GPRA) Type-II Quarters at Sarojini Nagar will include 28 buildings with over 2,500 residential units, offering modern amenities and eco-conscious features like solar-powered garbage compactors and water treatment systems.
Educational Projects:
PM Modi inaugurated the CBSE’s Integrated Office Complex in Dwarka, which includes an auditorium, offices, a modern computer center, and an advanced water management system. The building was designed to meet the Indian Green Building Council’s (IGBC) Platinum Rating standards for environmental sustainability.
At Delhi University, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for three new educational projects worth over ?600 crore, including the Western Campus at Dwarka, the Eastern Campus at Surajmal Vihar in East Delhi, and the construction of Veer Savarkar College in Roshanpura, Najafgarh.
These projects reflect the Central Government’s commitment to developing Delhi’s infrastructure, supporting education, and providing modern housing solutions for its residents. |
