Llaryora stressed the importance of public works in the interior: "We must practice federalism"
Almost 60 municipalities and communes received provincial resources to carry out infrastructure works.
At an event held at the Bicentennial Civic Center, the governor of the province of Córdoba, Martín Llaryora, delivered more than 2.6 billion pesos to 59 municipalities and communes with the objective of financing local urban development works. These resources, from the Complementary Fund for Infrastructure Works for Municipalities, Communes and Communities (FOCOM), are intended to generate employment, mobilize the economy and improve the quality of life of residents.
During his speech, Llaryora highlighted the importance of cooperation between different levels of government and stressed: "In Córdoba we have 120 strategic projects underway, but the municipalities are also active and are part of a Córdoba that does not stop, where we can think differently, but we work together. Because federalism does not have to be talked about, it has to be practiced."
The governor also stressed the need for joint work between the public and private sectors to promote development in local communities. "In the interior of the country, if the public and private sectors do not work together, if the provincial government and the municipal government do not work hand in hand, and if we do not carry out works, how do we improve the quality of life?" he questioned. He also stressed the commitment of his administration to rural and mountain communities: "We have long had a model that involves taking the works where the people are and not the people where the works are."
For his part, the Minister of Government, Manuel Calvo, highlighted the key role of mayors and local leaders in the planning and execution of these works. "No one knows the reality of their localities better than mayors and local leaders, which is why we have worked together so that public works in Córdoba do not stop and reach the 427 municipalities and communes," he concluded. |
