Work Detail Brazil’s oil and gas company Brava Energia has signed natural gas supply contracts with one private and one public Brazilian firm. Under the first contract, described as the company’s first with a free market customer, Brava is set to deliver 77,000 cubic meters (cbm) per day of natural gas to Cerâmica Serra Azul, part of the Carmelo Fior portfolio of companies. The second contract was signed with São Paulo’s natural gas distributor, Comgás. The deal provides for the delivery of 150,000–450,000 cbm per day of natural gas, in line with the demand curve predicted by the buyer, at a fixed sale price. Both contracts will start in January 2025 and last for three years. The gas will come from the company’s operations in Recôncavo Baiano, Espírito Santo, and Rio Grande do Norte. Since these are integrated into different transportation networks, the Brazilian player says their supply profile can be tailored to the demand of customers served by Comgás throughout the year. Brava Energia was formally formed in July 2024, when Brazil’s 3R Petroleum Óleo e Gás merged with compatriot Enatua. A reorganization of the new entity aiming to simplify Brava Group‘s corporate structure was announced in October. Last week, the firm signed a binding partnership agreement with another Brazilian player, PetroReconcavo, laying down the conditions for the latter’s acquisition of its natural gas infrastructure in the country’s Potiguar Basin. This follows the memorandum of understanding (MoU) PetroReconcavo signed with Brava’s predecessor 3R Petroleum Óleo e Gás.
