Hero Future Energies (HFE), the renewable energy division of the Hero Group, has successfully commissioned its 29 MWp solar project in Chitradurga, Karnataka. This open-access facility is designed to meet the energy needs of the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector, furthering HFE’s commitment to advancing India’s clean energy transition and providing sustainable energy solutions to businesses.
The solar plant is expected to produce 33 million units of green energy annually, which will help reduce CO2 emissions by 31,624 tons. This contribution supports India’s clean energy goals and its target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030. The power generated will be supplied to several leading companies in the region, including BASF India Ltd, KEMS Forging Ltd, VRKP Sponge and Power Plant, and Aurigene Oncology Ltd., with whom HFE has already signed Power Purchase Agreements.
