Sungrow, a global leader in PV inverters and energy storage systems, is excited to announce a strategic partnership with KTISTOR Energy to deploy the innovative liquid-cooled PowerTitan 2.0 Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in several important projects in Greece. KTISTOR is a dynamic construction company with a strong presence in Renewable Energy Sources projects, specializing in EPC services and the development of its own projects, including wind, solar, BESS, and related services. This partnership marks the PowerTitan 2.0’s debut in Greece, where it will play a key role in enhancing grid stability and supporting the country’s renewable energy transition goals.
The agreement encompasses four Energy Storage System (ESS) projects located in northern and central Greece. Two of these projects are licensed and will be operated under the Greek ESS tender scheme, while the other two will participate in the free market. The projects include the Dokos project in Rodopi, which is licensed for 8.875 MW for 2 hours and has an initial installed capacity of 25.065 MWh; the Petra project in Kozani, licensed for 7.8 MW for 2 hours, supplying 20.055 MWh; the Agia Anna project in Viotia, licensed for 7.8 MW for 3 hours, with an initial installed capacity of 30.09 MWh; and the Agia Anna II project, also in Viotia, licensed for 7.8 MW for 3 hours, with an initial installed capacity of 30.09 MWh.
These projects have a total capacity of 105 MWh, all powered by Sungrow’s advanced PowerTitan 2.0 system. The systems are set to be delivered in the summer of 2025, showcasing Sungrow’s ability to deliver quickly, manage production efficiently, and customize solutions to meet specific customer needs. The PowerTitan 2.0 is a state-of-the-art energy storage system designed to help stabilize and support power grids.
It enhances grid resilience, flexibility, and efficiency, while its liquid cooling technology ensures optimal thermal management, extending the system’s life and lowering operating costs. Additionally, the system’s smart architecture allows for fast deployment and easy adaptation to projects of any size. With its vast experience in energy storage, Sungrow plays a crucial role in supporting the global shift to renewable energy.
George Fakidis, Owner of KTISTOR Energy, stated, “We are delighted to collaborate with Sungrow in deploying the innovative PowerTitan 2.0 BESS technology for these critical projects in Greece. At KTISTOR Energy, we are committed to driving the transition towards a more sustainable and resilient energy future. This partnership underlines our dedication to integrating cutting-edge solutions that not only improve grid stability but also accelerate the adoption of renewable energy across the region. Together with Sungrow, we are paving the way towards a greener and more efficient energy landscape in Greece.”
Anastasios Gkinis, Sungrow Regional Director for SEE, CEE and CIS, mentioned, “We are honored by KTISTOR’s trust in Sungrow’s cutting-edge technology and our team’s commitment to providing high-level support at every stage of these landmark projects. The deployment of PowerTitan 2.0 in Greece will strengthen the stability of its power grid and significantly contribute to the country’s efforts in the energy transition. As BESS becomes a crucial part of the future development of renewable energy, Sungrow stands firm together with its partners to bridge the gap towards its mission: Clean Power For All.”
This partnership is a significant step in Sungrow’s ongoing effort to promote innovation and support the growth of large-scale renewable energy in Europe. Sungrow remains a leader in advancing a sustainable future, offering reliable and efficient energy solutions to its global partners. |
