Pre-engineered building solutions provider Interarch Building Products has entered the bidding process for Tata Group’s lithium battery manufacturing plant in Gujarat, according to a senior company official.
The plant, being developed by Tata Group’s Agratas Energy Storage Solutions, will have a capacity of 20 GWh and is set to be built on a 22.50 lakh square meter site in Sanand.
Interarch, known for its turnkey pre-engineered steel construction solutions, is no stranger to high-profile projects. The company is currently involved in Taiwanese firm Micron’s semiconductor assembly plant in Gujarat, a project led by Tata Projects. Additionally, Interarch has secured a major order for Tata Electronics ?27,000 crore microchip assembly and testing plant in Assam.
“The renewables sector and semiconductor industry are buzzing with activity," said Interarch Managing Director Arvind Nanda. The company is also executing projects for Reliance Solar and Amara Raja’s lithium battery plant while bidding for assignments from Warree Energies, Vikram Solar, and others.
Interarch recently completed India’s first lithium-ion battery plant for Exide, with a 12 GWh capacity, and handed it over to the client.
With an order book exceeding ?1,300 crore at the end of the September quarter, Interarch is pursuing a pipeline of projects worth ?2,500-3,000 crore, expected to be finalized over the next year. Its clientele includes Asian Paints, Grasim, HUL, Berger Paints, PepsiCo, and e-commerce leader Flipkart, for which it is building a 1.5 lakh square meter warehouse.
Despite its strong growth trajectory, Nanda highlighted a critical challenge: the shortage of highly skilled engineers needed for the complex engineering and design work central to Interarch’s operations.
Interarch, which went public in August, remains focused on strengthening its foothold in emerging sectors like renewables and semiconductors while expanding its portfolio of high-value industrial projects. |
