Work Detail Nemours Children’s Health is planning $300M expansion in its Lake Nona campus. Here is what we know. The Nemours Children’s Health has also announced its intentions to increase its presence in Central Florida and expand the hospital in Lake Nona by building a new facility at an estimated cost of $300 million. The Jacksonville-based health system will construct three new structures to the 130-bed Nemours Children’s Hospital, Florida campus as part of the plan that will be completed within the next four years. Nemours Children’s Health expansion plans for Lake Nona campus The new buildings will include: A 110,000-square-foot expansion of the pediatric hospital, which will increase the size of the emergency department to meet the needs of more patients, will also feature more inpatient beds as well as more space for the hospital’s imaging department. The project will be completed in 2028 and will be opened for patients. A 75,000 square meter patient care unit that will have six new operating theatres and new patient consultation rooms. The facility will be completed in 2028 and will also have room for its orthopedics division and sports medicine department. Also, Nemours Children’s Health will construct a 75,000-square-foot administration building in 2027, which will include an 800-space parking garage. “This Nemours Children’s Health in Lake Nona expansion is an important milestone in the delivery of our mission to deliver world class children’s health care in the state of Florida,” Dr. R. Lawrence Moss, the president and CEO of Nemours Children’s Health said in a press release. “This journey to be a top children’s hospital here will enable us to take care of more families from this region, across the United States and even the world.” The Orlando hospital of Nemours was established in 2012 on a 59-acre piece of land. By the year 2023, the health system had employed 2,824 full-time associates in Central Florida. Also, Nemours Children’s Health yesterday, Dec 17, announced its intention to make an investment of $130 million at its Wilmington pediatric hospital campus in the year 2025.
