Javier Milei decided to accept the construction of 10 public works.
Javier Mileis government approved the execution of 10 public infrastructure works with an investment of more than $85 billion. These will be developed over a period of three years, as part of the budgetary modifications established in the Decree of Necessity and Urgency (DNU) 1104/2024, recently published in the Official Gazette. The decision will, in part, affect traffic in the Argentine Republic since there will be renovations for three national routes.
The decision represents a relief for a sector affected by the governments plan to "reduce projects and prioritize fiscal surplus." Many of the planned initiatives had been delegated to provincial governments, which limited the push for new projects at the national level.
The total investment amounts to $85,035,972,415, distributed as follows:
2024: $6,740,374,351
2025: $24,890,774,102
2026: $39,150,446,567
The remaining $14,254,377,395 will be allocated in future years.

Budget modifications
One year into the administration, the Government authorized multi-year contracts by modifying the forms attached to article 11 of Law No. 27,701, corresponding to the General Budget of the National Administration 2023. The basis for this measure is based on article 15 of the Financial Administration Law No. 24,156, which establishes that budgets must include detailed information on invested resources, future amounts and execution schedules for works whose term exceeds the financial year.
Furthermore, according to Article 49 of Law No. 11,672, the Executive is authorized to establish financial applications in favor of the National Treasury for a period of up to 90 days. This allows for meeting financing needs by using the available funds of the Treasury Single Account System.
Presidential endorsement
The official document, signed by President Milei and his cabinet, specifies that the Ministry of Economys Public Works Secretariat has the necessary resources to implement these measures. It also authorizes the issuance of public credit instruments and the budgetary modification required to carry out these works. With this initiative, the government seeks to reactivate the construction sector and promote the development of key infrastructure, while maintaining its commitment to fiscal discipline.
