Cathal Marley joins from Gas Networks Ireland and will take up his new role in April
EirGrid Group has announced the appointment of Cathal Marley as its new chief executive.
Marley joins EirGrid from Gas Networks Ireland where he is CEO at present and brings with him over 20 years’ experience in the utilities and infrastructure sector across the electricity, gas and water industries.
Marley will take up his new role in April 2025.
The chairman of EirGrid, Brendan Tuohy, said: “On behalf of the board, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Cathal Marley as chief executive of EirGrid Group following a competitive recruitment process.
“Cathal brings to EirGrid considerable expertise and experience that will enable him to lead the organisation through unprecedented change as we secure the transition to renewable electricity and deliver a cleaner energy future.”
Marley said:
