Work Detail In a significant development for the solar energy sector, several companies have emerged victorious in the Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) Phase XXV auction, which was held to supply power from 500 MW of grid-connected solar power projects. The auction also included an additional greenshoe option of 500 MW. Among the winners were S.B.B. Mouldings, Kintech Synergy, Enertech Fuel Solutions, Prozeal Green Energy, Ausom Enterprise, Drashta Green Power, and SAEL Industries. Prozeal Green Energy secured the highest amount of capacity, winning 100 MW at a tariff of ?2.55 per kWh. Ausom Enterprise, Kintech Synergy, Enertech Fuel Solutions, SBB Mouldings, and Drashta Green Power won 50 MW, 50 MW, 40 MW, 10 MW, and 10 MW, respectively, at the same tariff of ?2.55 per kWh. SAEL Industries also had a strong showing, securing 240 MW at a slightly higher tariff of ?2.56 per kWh. Several of these companies accepted additional greenshoe capacity, with Kintech, Enertech, Drashta, and SAEL opting for 50 MW, 203 MW, 7 MW, and 240 MW, respectively, all at the same tariff of ?2.55 per kWh. The auction, which was initiated in August 2024, allowed for solar projects at various stages of development, including those under construction, those not yet commissioned, and those already commissioned without a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA). Eligible projects were required to meet specific criteria, including not being accepted under other central or state schemes and having no obligations toward existing buyers. Furthermore, the projects had to utilize solar modules listed on the MNRE’s Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM). The GUVNL auction also permitted the integration of solar projects within existing grid-connected wind farms, provided that there was spare capacity for renewable energy integration at Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation (GETCO) or central transmission utility substations. For interstate-connected projects, bidders were required to offer a minimum of 50 MW, while projects connected to the state transmission utility needed to offer at least 10 MW. This successful auction marks a significant step forward for solar energy development in Gujarat, highlighting the state’s growing role in India’s renewable energy push.
