JA Solar has reached a significant milestone, achieving its highest-ever score of 73 in the globally renowned EcoVadis Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) assessment. This achievement positions JA Solar among the top 6% of all companies assessed and highlights its exceptional performance in the environmental category, where it earned an impressive score of 80, securing the prestigious EcoVadis Group-Level Silver Medal.
EcoVadis is a globally recognized platform providing sustainability ratings and tools, using methodologies rooted in international frameworks like ISO 26000, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions, and the UN Global Compact principles. Since 2007, EcoVadis has assessed the sustainability performance of over 140,000 companies worldwide.
The evaluation covers four key areas: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement, measured across 21 performance indicators. EcoVadis offers three evaluation levels—Group, Entity, and Site—with the Group-level assessment being the most comprehensive. Today, over 600 multinational corporations utilize EcoVadis ratings in their procurement strategies.
Guided by its “Green to Green, Green to Grow, Green to Great” sustainability vision, JA Solar has consistently advanced its ESG initiatives, reflected in its steadily improving EcoVadis scores. Rising from 56 to 62 and now reaching 73, the company’s percentile ranking has climbed from 64% to 94%, underscoring its leadership in sustainability practices.
