Italy’s Next Geosolutions (NextGeo) has been awarded a contract by the Dutch-German transmission system operator (TSO) TenneT to carry out a marine route survey in the Netherlands.
The contract, worth approximately EUR 43 million, involves extensive geophysical and geotechnical activities, both offshore and nearshore, in the Dutch Exclusive Economic Zone.
Operational activities, scheduled to take place between the end of the first quarter and the fourth quarter of 2025, will include the execution of a marine route survey, required for the design of the cable connections that link the Doordewind area to the onshore grid.
NextGeo will perform geophysical investigations and geotechnical sampling using advanced technical solutions, the company said, covering an area exceeding 21,000 hectares.
“With this project, we continue to maintain our collaboration with TenneT, which has remained uninterrupted since 2020,” said Gianluca Iacomino, Project Director at NextGeo.
The project is part of TenneT’s 2 GW programme, an initiative aimed at developing a new generation of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) grid connections to integrate 2 GW of offshore wind into the European electrical grid by 2031. |
