Work Detail The Mar del Plata Regional Port Consortium signed the contract to carry out maintenance dredging at the port, a key project to ensure the operation of the maritime terminal. The investment exceeds 6.5 million dollars and will be covered exclusively with own resources, without assistance from the national State. “We will undertake this public project with our own resources, which will allow us to maintain the conditions of full operation and navigation safety, supporting and promoting the dynamics and growth of our ports activity,” said Marcos Gutiérrez, president of the Port Consortium. The dredging includes work in the inner and outer access channels, the turning area near the flammable goods post, and the berthing fronts of sections 8 and 9 of Pier 2. These tasks are essential to maintain the depths and width of the channel necessary for the entry and exit of large vessels, such as tankers and container ships, essential for foreign trade operations and fuel supply. The Spanish company Canlemar SL, the sole bidder in the national and international public tender, will be responsible for carrying out the works within a period of 150 calendar days.
