The Government tendered a new project that will be carried out with the funds that Mendoza obtained from the economic compensation of the Industrial Promotion. This includes the second stage of the Los Barrancos drinking water supply system in Godoy Cruz.
This work is added to the tenders for the expansion of the treatment plant in General Alvear, the optimization of the Gran Mendoza Terraza Las Cañas distribution system in Guaymallén, the repaving of Provincial Route 171 in the Monte Comán-Real del Padre section, in San Rafael, and the repaving of Provincial Route 153 in the Ñacuñán-Monte Comán section, which connects Santa Rosa and San Rafael.
To date, 18 projects have been announced, distributed across Greater Mendoza, Uco Valley, East and South of the province, with an investment of USD 273,500,000 to optimize water, sewage, energy and road services in the East-South productive corridor.
The Undersecretary of Infrastructure and Territorial Development, Marité Badui, highlighted that these economic infrastructure works seek to improve operational efficiency and respond to water demand. In this regard, priority has been given to drinking water and irrigation projects with strategically planned investments.
"The profile of the works defined by the Governor focuses on economic infrastructure that responds to key sectors, such as water, sanitation, energy and, of course, road connectivity, essential in a province where daily life is concentrated in various productive oases with significant distances between them," said the official.
Badui also stressed that the compensation funds are intended to achieve a balanced development of the productive oases of Mendoza. “To achieve this objective, it is essential to have adequate road connectivity, since an optimal road infrastructure allows for improved land trade, the mobilization of the production of our oases and the better development of our daily lives,” he explained.
