The tender for the new public lighting system is moving forward in La Plata.
The maintenance of the lighting in the Commune will require around 13,000 million pesos annually and is divided into three zones

The bidding process for the new public lighting system in La Plata took a new step yesterday, with the opening of the envelopes of the companies applying to take charge of the service. It is now expected that in the next few days the winning bids will be awarded and that they will begin to provide service in January.
The Municipality indicated that the companies that submitted their bids are BlueComm SRL, Pose SA, Lesko SA, Ilubaires SA, Ciageser SA and Dielectric SA, whose offers will now be subject to analysis.
They explained that the service will be divided into three areas: the historic center, the North zone and the South zone, to provide a “preventive and corrective maintenance” service for the citys lighting park.
Until now, public lighting services in the city were provided by two companies in charge of the northern area and the city centre, and two cooperatives operating in the west and south.
In committee meetings in which officials from the Public Services area participated in the local Deliberative Council, they stressed the need to implement an improvement in the lighting service, due to the large number of lights that were out of service at the beginning of the administration.
According to this newspaper, the new tender proposes the provision of the service in the three areas of the City mentioned, for a period of one year. The historic center will require a total of 5.04 billion pesos from the municipal treasury, the same as the North zone. Meanwhile, the South zone will cost 3.024 billion pesos in 2025.
The area of ??the town covers from 32nd Avenue, from the limit with Ensenada to its continuity with 82nd Boulevard; 82nd Boulevard and its continuity to 31st Avenue; 31st Avenue to its continuity with 81st Boulevard; 81st Boulevard to its continuity with 72nd Avenue; and 72nd Avenue to the limit with Berisso.
Meanwhile, the North Zone is comprised of Avenida 32 from the limit with Ensenada to its continuity with Boulevard 82; Boulevard 82 and its continuity to Avenida 31; Avenida 31 to Avenida 52; Avenida 52 to Provincial Route No. 36; and Route No. 36 to the limit with Berazategui.
The South Zone is the area that extends along 72nd Avenue from the border with Berisso to its continuity with 81st Boulevard; 81st Boulevard and its continuity to 31st Avenue; 31st Avenue to 52nd Avenue; 52nd Avenue to Provincial Route No. 36; and Route No. 36 to the border with Magdalena.
With an area of ??over 900 square kilometres, the city has a lighting park of 120,000 lamps, distributed between the city centre and the neighbourhoods on the outskirts.
According to the administration of Mayor Julio Alak, after a survey of the condition of the lamps that require repair or replacement, the companies that win the tender and take charge of the service will correct the devices that present faults, in addition to an investment that implies the technological update of the service. |
