Work Detail |
These are sewage and water sanitation works for eight districts in the department. They will be carried out with funds from the Portezuelo del Viento Compensation. The Undersecretary of Infrastructure, Marité Badui, and the Mayor Matías Stevanato signed the agreement for future interventions.
The Government of Mendoza signed the first specific agreements with the Municipality of Maipú for the implementation of works with the funds from the Compensation for Portezuelo del Viento. In this way, the municipality governed by Matías Stevanato will have access to the resources as a sub-executing body for the completion of water and sanitation works.
“The framework agreement that allows them to use the compensation funds in their capacity as operators of the water and sanitation service had already been signed with the mayors of Maipú, Luján and Tupungato. Now we are signing the specific agreements for three projects in Maipú. We are hopeful of moving forward with the systematic process of calling for tenders as we have been doing until now,” explained Marite Badui, Undersecretary of Infrastructure and Territorial Development.
Maipu works
The agreements signed will allow the implementation of potable water drilling in eight districts of Maipú. Also, the completion of sewage works in Rodeo del Medio, Fray Luis Beltrán and San Roque, and the construction of a sewage collector and household connections in the South zone: Ozamis, Route 60, Vieytes and Azcuénaga. All these works will have a total investment of 22.8 million dollars.
“These are important works for the residents of Maipú. This agreement will allow us to finish the sewerage works in the East, which will benefit more than 30,000 residents of Rodeo del Medio, San Roque and Beltrán. It will also allow us to add ten wells, which will improve the water and sewerage service for the South zone. These are three key works for the residents that help the department to continue growing,” said Matías Stevanato, head of the Maipú municipality.
In the same sense, the mayor stressed that he had already been working with the provincial government. “In this, both Marite Badui and the ministers Mema and Fayad and Governor Cornejo helped us to complete the signing of these specific agreements that are essential for us to tender these works that the people of Maipuca were waiting for to improve their quality of life,” concluded Stevanato.
