Work Detail Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, announced on Tuesday a series of nine major road and highway projects for Rajasthan, with a total length of 800 kilometres, at the Infrastructure: An Important Link in Supply Chain session during the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit. The combined investment for these projects is estimated at ?30,000 crore. Notable projects include the Northern Jaipur Ring Road and the Jaipur-Kishangarh-Jodhpur-Amritsar Highway. Gadkari emphasized the strategic significance of these initiatives, stating that the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor passing through Rajasthan’s tribal districts would stimulate economic growth and unlock the region’s industrial potential. He added that an efficient transport network is a key driver of infrastructure development, which in turn boosts investment, creates assets, and generates employment. “The construction of roads has increased land prices fivefold. I had earlier suggested to the Rajasthan government to develop a new Jaipur through the Jaipur Development Authority. There is also an excellent scheme to give a percentage of the developed land to farmers, which would significantly benefit them,” Gadkari said. Rajasthan’s Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Jogaram Patel, commended the initiatives, highlighting their transformative impact on the states development. "An efficient road network and a strong logistics sector are essential for progress. For the first time, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has undertaken measures to connect Rajasthans four corners through a seamless road network," Patel said.
