The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has recently completed the rehabilitation of the damaged sections along Marinduque Circumferential Road, in Barangay Cagpo, municipality of Torrijos, in an effort to improve connectivity and accessibility in the main road of the island province.
In a report to Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH Regional Office IV-B Director Gerald A. Pacanan said that the reconstruction and improvement works on the four (4)-lane 1-kilometer road section is a vital measure in ensuring smooth and safe road while reinforcing the road infrastructure’s service life.
“The completion of the rehabilitation work of Marinduque Circumferential Road brings positive impact to the surrounding communities as it restores daily travel time of residents and motorists in the area,” added Director Pacanan.
Implemented by DPWH Marinduque District Engineering Office, the project covers the reconstruction of concrete pavement with retaining walls and catch basins, including pavement markings and warning signs as its road safety features.
The road rehabilitation project along Marinduque Circumferential Road was completed in the amount of P35.61 million, funded under the General Appropriations Act of 2024. |
