There are a total of 144 discs that are already being cut and de-cut in the workshops owned by the line located in the town of Tapiales, east of La Matanza, by the firm Benito Roggio Ferroindustrial Sociedad Anónima (SA), which won the tender for a contract worth 174,742.56 dollars according to the documents to which Viví el Oeste had access.
The first shipment of these tools arrived in the country last October and currently the 1,024th tripod is being repaired, while the 1,008th will begin to be repaired in the next few days.
The new elements will allow for optimized traffic flow of trains connecting the Matanzas city of González Catán with the Doctor Antonio Sáenz terminal, located in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Pompeya, and will significantly increase traffic for the thousands of passengers who use the service known as branch G on a daily basis.
What is the itinerary for continuing with this work?
In turn, the National Transportation Secretariat reported that they expect to receive a second package of wheels (which will contain a total of 54) in February of next year to continue with the aforementioned work.
It should be noted that the deadline stipulated for completing all the replacements is 12 months, although the Argentine Government set the reception in stages to speed up the tasks and seek to affect as little as possible the availability of the trains for the regular passenger routes that the line makes. |
