The event was chaired in La Plata by the director of the Buenos Aires Highway Department, accountant Pedro Mantjaras, and in addition to the bidders, the technical staff of the department was present, who had been in charge of supervising the process.
It was estimated that work would begin before the end of that year, following study and analysis by the supervisory bodies of the government of the Province of Buenos Aires, after which the respective contract would be signed with the contractor.
It was also reported that the firms interested in developing this project had quoted between 12% and 18% above the official budget set at 4,859,507 pesos.
The aforementioned work was part of the second call for tenders carried out by the provincial government for the repair of Route 88. Previously, the first call for tenders was made to remodel and repave the section that connects Mar del Plata with Batán, where eleven companies had submitted bids for the tender.
