Offshore rig owner Seadrill has secured a contract extension in the US Gulf of Mexico for its semisubmersible drilling rig Sevan Louisiana.
The 2013-built circular hull design unit will continue operations through December 2024, the New York-listed company said in a social media post on LinkedIn.
In mid-April, the Sevan Louisiana started a contract for well intervention work with an independent operator in the US Gulf, and earlier this year the rig’s services were secured into November 2024.
According to Seadrill’s fleet status report, the semi is on contract with Walter Oil & Gas at an undisclosed dayrate.
As of mid-November, Seadrill’s backlog stood at about $2.3bn, with 70% of available rig days contracted across its fleet for 2025. |
