Hero Future Energies Private Ltd (HFEPL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Karnataka to invest ?11,000 crore in renewable energy, green hydrogen, and derivative projects within the state.
The projects, slated to begin in 2025-26, will span over 2-3 years and are expected to create approximately 3,000 jobs in Karnataka. HFEPL’s leadership emphasized the company’s commitment to decarbonization across sectors, stating, “With a renewable energy portfolio exceeding 6 GW, we aim to extend our efforts beyond the grid to hard-to-abate industries such as transportation and heavy manufacturing. Karnataka’s progressive policies and abundant renewable resources make it the ideal location to realize our vision.”
Under the agreement, the Karnataka government will support the projects by providing necessary permissions, approvals, and incentives, ensuring timely implementation as per the state’s policies and regulations.
The MoU was signed during the London Roadshows, with MB Patil, Karnataka’s Minister for Large and Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development, present at the ceremony. The initiative underscores Karnataka’s position as a hub for green innovation and renewable energy investments. |
