This is for the Quebrada Locayo Wind Farm project, with a total installed capacity of 240 MW, to be located in the Coquimbo region. An investment of 396 million dollars is estimated.
The Quebrada Locayo Wind Farm project, consisting of 30 wind turbines of up to 8 MW of power each, with a total installed capacity of 240 MW, to which a 300 MWh modular battery energy storage system (BESS) will be added, has entered the Chilean Environmental Impact Assessment Service (SEIA).
The project is proposed to be located on 220.7 hectares of private land located on the coast of the commune of Ovalle, in the Cebada and Mineral de Talca sectors, Limarí province, Coquimbo region.
According to the documentation submitted to the SEIA, the project also consists of a 33/220 kV step-up substation, a 1x220 kV single-circuit high-voltage line of approximately 14.4 km to connect to the National Electric System at the existing substation called S/E Central La Cebada.
With an estimated investment amount of 396 million dollars, a construction phase of 18 months is planned, with an execution date for October 2026, and a useful life of 32.5 years. |
