An initiative involving the European Union, the Chilean Ministry of Energy, the Latin American Energy Organization (Olade) and the Chilean Agency for International Development Cooperation (AGCID) has launched the project “Strengthening Latin Americas capacities to comply with international standards for the certification of low- or zero-emission hydrogen and its derivatives for export purposes.”
The objective is to "boost the clean energy market in the Latin American and Caribbean region and identify the requirements and regulations to comply with international standards," according to a statement.
The project includes workshops and technical exchange discussions between the Ministries of Energy of four countries in the region (Chile, Argentina, Colombia and Panama), with which information will be gathered and various joint actions will be proposed.
"Furthermore - the statement explains - the systematization and analysis of the results of the workshops will allow the development of a roadmap for the certification of renewable hydrogen and its derivatives in the region."
The project is funded by the Chile – European Union (EU) Triangular Cooperation Fund, of the ADELANTE 2 Program. |
