An agrovoltaic project is being developed by the Chinese solar module manufacturer Longi together with the Colombian company Erco Energy in the Guamo and Numbana photovoltaic parks, located in the department of Tolima, Colombia.
The project combines the integration of 50 camuros, a ruminant resulting from the crossbreeding of sheep and goats, which contribute to the natural maintenance of the area beneath the solar modules.
The photovoltaic parks where the experiment is being carried out are Guamo, 9 MW, and Numbana, 9.9 MW, both in operation since December of last year .
Guamo consists of 20,496 solar panels and Numbana of 23,632, all of 575 W each supplied by Longi.
In a statement, it is explained that "the use of the 32.86 hectare land is high, since approximately 44 GWh of clean energy are produced annually in the same area of grazing for 50 camuros." |
