Work Detail Team builds 660-metre quay wall at Ardersier Energy Transition Facility Specialist construction work to bring a planned offshore wind port in the north-east of Scotland a step closer, has been completed. Sarens PSG was awarded the contract by Bauer Technologies to deploy a fleet of eight powerful crawler cranes, supported by a team of 24 specialists, to work on the installation of massive quay walls at Haventus’s redevelopment of the Ardersier Energy Transition Facility (pictured). Over a six-month period, Sarens PSG worked around the clock to help to build a 660-metre concrete diaphragm wall, with an array of cranes ranging from 100 to 400 tonnes, specially adapted for port development. The quay wall installation project concluded this month bringing the Haventus development one step closer to becoming operational in 2025. Sarens PSG managing director Steve Clark said: “This is a world-class facility under development. "What sets it apart is the vast expanse of land behind the quayside, which offers unparalleled potential for large-scale assembly, manufacturing, storage and deployment. "This will support both the ScotWind and INTOG build-out and will rival any existing or planned facility in the UK." Ardersier Energy Transition Facility is the largest brownfield port development site in the UK, with the potential to create hundreds of new jobs. The development is backed by Quantum Capital Group and has also received substantial support from both the Scottish National Investment Bank and the UK Infrastructure Bank. The project has been recognised as "nationally significant" in advancing Scotland and the UKs offshore wind capabilities and net zero goals, attracting visits including from Scotland’s First Minister John Swinney and others.
