Work Detail The Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority (SEWA) has announced the launch of several projects aimed at enhancing electricity networks across the central region, with a total investment of AED 20,409,404. The projects are set to improve the region’s energy infrastructure during the first half of this year. The comprehensive upgrade plan includes the installation of high-voltage cables stretching over 97.740 km and low-voltage cables covering 5.540 km. Additionally, overhead power lines spanning 35 km will be removed as part of the ongoing effort to modernize the region’s electricity grid. Khalifa Mohammed Al Tunaiji, Director of the Central Region Department at SEWA, highlighted that the projects align with the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. Al Tunaiji emphasized the importance of these developments in providing high-quality services across all sectors of the Emirate, including commercial, industrial, agricultural, residential, and governmental areas. The initiative also includes the replacement of overhead lines with underground cables, a strategic move to enhance network stability and ensure the reliable delivery of electricity throughout the central region. This long-term plan aims to bolster service reliability, improve operational efficiency, and meet the growing demand for electricity in the region. SEWA’s ongoing efforts reflect the Authority’s commitment to sustainability and its goal to provide uninterrupted, high-standard services to residents and businesses in Sharjah.
