Spanish multinational Accionan has announced an agreement with Peruvian power company Kallpa Generación to build a 225 MW peak power photovoltaic plant in the district of La Joya, department of Arequipa.
The plant will reportedly consist of 371,040 bifacial panels, capable of producing 611 GWh annually, equivalent to the average annual energy consumption of 547,000 households.
The photovoltaic park will have a surface area of ??549 hectares and will be connected to Perus transmission network at the San José substation (220 kV).
The project will be executed under a turnkey or “full EPC” (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) model.
This is Accionas third major photovoltaic project in South America, after El Romero Solar, with 246 MWp , and the Malgarida photovoltaic complex, with 238 MWp , both built in the Atacama Desert.
In July of this year, the company obtained the definitive concession for the San José photovoltaic project . The company already has the 131.1 MW San Juan de Marcona wind farm in the department of Ica, which began construction in 2022.
In Peru, Acciona is also involved in the high-voltage transmission lines business. |
