Work Detail A 2.8-kilometer road concreting project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) now serves as an efficient alternative route, enhancing transportation access, thereby boosting livelihood and economic activities in Barangay San Roque, Panabo City, Davao del Norte. In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, Regional Office XI Director Juby B. Cordon said that since the completion of the road project in Barangay San Roque, residents have seen significant improvement in their daily activities, particularly in the prompt delivery of their farm produce to the market centers of the adjacent communities and neighboring towns. “The newly-paved road provided a functional alternative route for commuters and motorists in easing traffic slowdown from the main road, enhancing mobility and connectivity, that now serves as an added gateway in advancing local growth in Panabo City,” added Director Cordon. Traversing Purok 2, Sitio Lansones to Mariangas in Barangay San Roque, the access road includes the installation of metal guardrails, safety signs, and thermoplastic paint as primary components in optimizing road safety and resiliency of the infrastructure against all weather conditions. Implemented by DPWH Davao del Norte Sub-District Engineering Office, the road project was completed in the amount of P49.50 Million funded under the 2023 Basic Infrastructure Program.
