Work Detail The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has successfully completed a network development program project, focused on constructing missing links and new roads of Aguinaldo-Toboy-Natonin Road in the municipality of Aguinaldo, Province of Ifugao. The P52-million project funded under the 2024 General Appropriations Act (GAA), involves paving from Barangay Monggayang to Barangay Toboy, thereby improving transportation routes and better connecting various areas. According to a report submitted to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan by the Ifugao 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO) in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), the road project serves as a crucial route for the local economy, especially in transporting agricultural products such as bananas and coffee to markets in Barangay Ubao, Aguinaldo, and Barangay Santa Maria in the Municipality of Alfonso Lista. “The project addresses absence of a dependable road link posing significant challenges for the residence, affecting economic growth and socio-economic development,” District Engineer Rommel N. Balajo said. The scope of the project covers excavation, laying of portland concrete cement paving of road with a length of 0.964-lane kilometers, structural concrete work, installation of catch basins, curbs, and gutters, hazard markers, thermoplastic pavement markings, and stone masonry. Upon the project’s completion, farmers now have a more reliable and faster means to transport their produce to markets, reducing travel time and costs.
