Torres announced the call for bids for the completion of the Double Track Highway.
The Governor announced that the opening of bids will take place on December 18, with a budget of close to 14 billion pesos.
Governor Ignacio Torres announced this Friday the call for bids for the completion of an important section of the highway between Trelew and Puerto Madryn, on National Route No. 3. In this way, and fulfilling the commitment made since the beginning of his administration, the governor highlighted the speed of the processes undertaken by the provincial government to complete a work that has been stopped for more than 18 years.
“The years of apathy, corruption and ineffectiveness are over. Now in Chubut, every project that begins will be finished as it should be,” said the head of the Executive and indicated that, since last year, “we have been doing things seriously, in a transparent manner and taking care of the taxpayers pockets, as it should always have been.”
The president praised the “tireless and silent work” of the Government team to complete a key and priority project for the region. “Not only is it a very important step in terms of infrastructure, but we are also talking about creating hundreds of genuine jobs for the people of Chubut, and protecting the lives of all those who travel on that route,” he stressed.
The construction of the Madryn-Trelew Double Track will be carried out with entirely provincial funds, based on the debt compensation agreement signed in due time with the National Government. “In almost two decades this work was paid for five times, it cost the State millions and the previous governments left it abandoned, putting the safety of all Chubut residents at risk,” the governor questioned.
Likewise, and after signing the transfer of the work to the provincial sphere, Torres highlighted the approval of the project sent by the Executive to the Legislature of Chubut for the officialization of the agreement signed between the Provincial Administration of Roads of Chubut and the National Directorate of Roads. In this framework, he valued the commitment of all the actors involved in the process to conclude "a work that for years was a symbol of cynicism and shame."
