A US$1.43 billion tolled expressway is planned for Jakarta, Indonesia.Metro Pacific Tollways Corp (MPTC) plans to invest $1.43 billion to develop an elevated toll road in Jakarta, Indonesia. The new expressway will be tolled and will be built on top of the existing Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR). The JORR Elevated Toll Road will run between Jatiasih in East Jakarta and Ulujami in South Jakarta.
Construction for the 21.6km JORR Elevated route will start in 2025. Building this new route will help boost capacity for traffic around Jakarta, helping reduce journey times and congestion. The city is notorious for its heavy traffic delays and the new JORR Elevated Toll Road is anticipated to help reduce the problem and handle up to 1 million vehicles/day. The route will form part of the Trans-Java Toll Road programme.
The design and approvals process is underway at present. The project is being managed by PT Margautama Nusantara. |
