CTCI Corporation, Taiwan announced that it has won a contract with Ras Laffan Petrochemicals (RLP) for the Qatar RLP Ethylene Storage EPC Project.
This project includes the construction of a 30,000-metric-ton ethylene storage tank and its utilities.
The total value of the project is USD 417 million, with CTCI’s share being about USD 202 million and the contract period for the storage unit is estimated to be 34 months.
For the execution of this project, CTCI is partnering with Samsung E&A as part of the “Samsung E&A CTCI Joint Venture” (SCJV).
The client, Ras Laffan Petrochemicals (RLP) is a joint venture between QatarEnergy and Chevron Phillips Chemical.
The scope of the ethylene storage project includes constructing storage facilities and utility infrastructure (U&O) in Ras Laffan Industrial City, located 80 kilometers north of Doha, Qatar’s capital.
This project is in the same complex as the RLP Ethylene Project awarded to SCJV in 2023, which is currently under execution. The ethylene storage unit is designed to serve as an adaptable solution, acting as a temporary stopover during plant maintenance and repair periods, as well as in emergencies, while allowing flexible handling of ethylene from both upstream and downstream suppliers. |
