Work Detail The Association for Sustainable Development (ASOR) from Serbia and Azerbaijani organization AQSIA held three workshops on renewable energy sources at the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP29 in Baku. The events were part of a joint project by ASOR and AQSIA that received financial support from the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The workshops covered key topics such as the application of renewable energy in industry and agriculture and the role of youth in the field of renewable energy. Through carefully designed sessions and interactive discussions, participants from around the world had the opportunity to exchange ideas, analyze best practices, and explore innovative solutions. Director of ASOR Borivoje Matic participated as a speaker in all three workshops, which centered on renewable energy sources. Matic: We received positive feedback from the participants at the workshops “Participating in COP29 and the UNFCCC workshops was an exceptional opportunity to present concrete steps in the implementation of renewable energy sources together with our partners from AQSIA. The discussions highlighted how essential experience exchange and collaboration on projects are for finding sustainable solutions. I am particularly proud of the positive feedback we received from workshop participants,” Matic said. The Serbian organization also participated in plenary sessions at COP29, where global leaders discussed the most pressing climate challenges, including the necessary increase in investment in renewable energy and adaptation to climate change. The project with the Azerbaijani partner reaffirms ASOR’s commitment to expanding knowledge and initiatives in the field of renewable energy while enhancing its capacity for future global projects, the announcement reads. The two organizations are planning activities together on an international scale ASOR said it signed a memorandum of cooperation with AQSIA as a result of their successful collaboration, outlining the next steps in strengthening their joint international activities. The United Nations Climate Change Conference is formally known as the Conference of the Parties (hence: COP) of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
